Doula Services Gainesville, FL
As a birth Doula, I believe in the power of a mother's intuition. I believe that there is something profoundly powerful that transcends us as we carry and birth our babies. During labor, I believe that a woman finds her own internal strength to transform into a Mother. And as a doula, I believe my role is to unconditionally provide the emotional, physical, and spiritual support so that a mother can fully engage in her own body, her own voice, her own vision, and her own strength to birth her baby the way she feels is most congruent with her heart.
"Be strong, be fearless, be beautiful. And believe that anything is possible when you have the right people there to support you." Misty Copeland
As a doula, I also facilitate communication with the staff to ensure that you have the information you need to make informed, evidence-based decisions regarding your baby’s birth. I provide reassurance and perspective to you and your partner, make suggestions for labor progress, and help with relaxation, massage, positioning and other techniques for your comfort. I am independent and self- employed, and as such, am working for YOU, not your caregiver or place of birth. My first and only priority is that you, as the mother, have your voice heard and your wishes met in order to welcome your new family member into your lives.
MY SERVICES INCLUDE:
A Consultation "Getting to Know You"
1 Prenatal Appointment (Around 36 weeks to discuss your Birth Vision/Comfort Measures)
Optional: Appointment with your Care Provider
Unlimited Phone/Texts/ Email Support
On-call starting at 38 weeks
I prefer that you contact me AS SOON as you think you are in labor, even if you do not need me yet. This gives me time clear my calendar and arrange childcare. I request at least 2 hours notice for me to become 100% available to your laboring needs.
We will jointly decide where and when to meet (home, hospital, birth center)
I stay with you for the entirety of your labor, providing physical, emotional and spiritual support for both you and your partner.
I serve as a "yield sign" for decision making, giving you space and evidence-based suggestions for you to make the most informed decision.
I suggest breathing techniques, options in positions, pain management, stress relief, meditations, mantras, movement exercises, etc during each stage of your labor.
1-2 hours of postpartum support immediately following birth
1 postpartum visit in your home about one week after birth to reflect on your birth story. I share my notes, perspective, and gratitude for being a part of your birth team.

LIMITATION OF SERVICES
As a Doula, I do not:
1. Perform clinical tasks, such as taking blood pressure, fetal heart checks or vaginal exams. I am there to provide only physical comfort and emotional support and facilitate communication between you and the staff.
2. Make decisions for you. I will help you get the information you need to make an informed decision. I will also remind you if there is a departure from your birth plan.
3. Speak to the staff on your behalf. I will discuss your concerns with you and suggest options, as well as encourage you to voice your opinions, questions and concerns to the staff.
My passion is to support you through your own journey into motherhood.
Please let me know how I can best support your process.
